Taylor Gang: Labor Day Weekend

What a special weekend we had. It was busy, spiritual and family filled. By the end of the weekend I was SO tired but it was worth every second of it.
Our weekend started out doing baptisms for the dead with Dallin. He just turn twelve in August and we were excited to go to the temple together as a family. This happen to be his first time for Dallin which was even more exciting. Throughout the night, Matt would stop and explain things to him. He thought it was really neat to do 20 names and he was able to watch Shawna and I do 15 names. It was the first time I stopped to think how special this temple was to me. I explained how many people in this area considered it their temple because they were able to work on it while it was being built. I explain when I was a teenager I was able to go and clean the temple. We were assigned to clean the Oxen and then walk around the temple before the open house. It was such a neat experience, one I hope to never forget. He was so excited about the night he was bragging to his little sister Brittany about how many names we were able to do. Brittany became really sad and said, "There aren't going to be any names lift for me!" I thought that was really cute. Those that went to the temple gathered at our house and ate pizza afterward. Erin was really nice to watch our kids and the Nash kids so we could attned to temple.

Saturday afternoon we headed to Fallon for dinner and Tiffanys baptism. We were so proud of Tiffany's decision to get baptized. At first we weren't sure if Ben was going to let her, but he said if it was something she wanted to do, she could do it. She was exited the whole family was around for her. We had a very delicious dinner and had to hurry to make it to the baptism. There were so many people there wasn't enough chairs (not bad for 2 girls). I stayed in the hallway until Tiffany was baptized. Then we stayed in the room and listened to Patty give a really good talk on the Holy Ghost.

Sunday was Miles baby blessing. Just family alone took up 5 benches, two of the really long ones. I loved having the support from everyone. We just stayed for sacrament and had everyone head to the house for lunch.

Monday was a crazy day. We set up studio lights at Ross Photo and took pictures of my family and Paul and Patty's family. It took WAY longer than what we thought and took most the morning and early afternoon. However we had a GREAT time. That night we had a BBQ at the Singers house and FHE at Grandma and Grandpa Ross house.
We started at the Singers house. It was more like a goodbye party because they were moving later that month to Texas. We will miss them dearly. The food was really good and the company was even better.

We tried to stay at the BBQ as long as we could without missing too much of the fireside up at my grandparents house. Grandpa Ross payed for Joseph Smiths descendant to come out and give a fireside. Then we had our own family fireside with her Monday. She and her son are great singers and we loved listening to what they had to say about the Young family.
