sledding in the snow
We have had quite the winter with a lot of snow fall for us to play in. Tonight we didn't get home until later and Brielle wanted to be outside with her Daddy. When I made it outside Matt had pulled out the sled and was pushing Brielle around the cul-de-sac. She had a ball. I had to be the bad guy and bring her inside because we didn't put her gloves on and her little hands were red. She wasn't very happy with me but it didn't take long for her to forgive me.

Baking with Mommy
I wanted to try to bake with Brielle. I was really in the mood for muffins my mom makes Christmas morning. I thought it would be fun having Brielle's help. I put on her cute apron that Brian and Crystal made her for Christmas and attempted to involve Brielle. It didn't last very long. She had her own bowl but she just wanted to eat or play in it (which of course is a natural thing to do for her age...duh). Needless to say her help came to an end very quick. However, I do want to try again but with something she can eat and I can monitor her a little better.
I am sure she is thinking, "Are you sure you really want to do this?"

Headin to Fallon
Matt needed to do some work on our rental in Fallon. I like to go with him if I can so we headed out and hit some fog in East Sparks, but then it cleared up. There is still a lot of snow on the ground and it was a beautiful drive down to Fallon. When we hit Fernley/Fallon area it was covered with pogonip. It made it feel like we were in heaven. I kept thinking to myself, "oh this would be an AMAZING picture" but I didn't want to make Matt stop, nor risk waking Brielle up.
Finally I couldn't resist and mentioned that we passed some heavenly sections. Matt informed me he would have stopped so I could take a picture, but we passed all the area I wanted to take a picture. I was kinda kicking myself but we did capture a large tree covered with pogonip.
Matts parents were not home (they were off playin on a cruise). But Brielle and I hung out at his parents house while Matt did what he needed to do on the rental.
I thought I would capture Brielle's ice scrapped cheek. Right before we left for Fallon Brielle was outside playing while Matt was packing the truck. She had fallen on a patch of snow (but it sat for a month so it was more like a nice section of solid ice). So here is her battle wound.

Playin with Daddy
Our new toy
Brielle hears the water running and the dishes clanging she knows the dishwasher is open. She loves to come over and take everything out, especially the silverware. Once she has taken all the silverware out she goes over to the refrigerator and grabs her magnets and places them in the dishwasher. The first time she did this Matt chuckled and said, "Is she trying to tell us we need to clean her magnets?"

Cousin time
Because I had to work for Thanksgiving and then we headed out of town the next day, I did not get to see Shawna and the kids. We did celebrate Christmas with the Taylor's however the Rushing family wasn't there. Needless to say, I was very excited we had to opportunity to have the Rushing family come over to the house for a short visit (along with the rest of the Taylor family). Here are a few pictures from our evening together.

Mariah and Brielle shared the "big girl" chair and looked at books together. It was very cute!
