Fly Ranch

My parents invited us to go with them to Fly Ranch. My parents young men were camping out there. I was so excited to go because I have heard and seen pictures of this geyser that is out in the middle of the desert. It's not open to the public because it's on someones ranch. So we packed up with just a few snacks and headed out.

Sure enough, it's right smack in the middle of the desert. I thought it was a natural geyser but come to find out it was man-made on accident. A well was drilled and a geothermal boiling water was hit, the geyser was left alone and a 10-12 foot calcium carbonate cone was formed.

It was a little chilly and slightly muddy but it was worth it!

Check out the colors. It's beautiful.

My camera battery was almost dead. I only got one side of the geyser.
The steam could get a little intense to the point Mom couldn't see out of her glasses.
We were going to go straight home after the geyser but we decided to tag along with Mike and Maryann Mooney and have them show us some Indian artifacts that were in some caves. We couldn't miss out so we went.
The Mooneys were super nice and shared a little of their lunch. We didn't pack for an all day outing and that's exactly what we did. But we had fun. This picture above is of Matt in front of Indian rock. We had fun climbing and walking about it.
Matt and Brielle in the cave playing with the grinder.
Matt ventured out and found some cow skeleton.
Check out the rock formation. It was so compact, rough and SHARP! It was so cool!

I think I discovered the biggest find of the day. A taranchula in the wild! I didn't even know we had taranchula's in our deserts. In fact, no one in my group has ever seen one in the wild either. Thank goodness it was cold because it didn't move too fast, allowing me to get kinda close and take a picture.

11 months

I don't think I can get enough of her playing in the dirt, besides it's one of her favorite things to do while she is outside.

We never did carve our pumpkins and we have kept them in the house because she LOVES to play with them. She sits right next to them and lounges around with them, hits her head against them, sits on them, climbs on them. You name it, I am sure she has done it.

She has discovered her toy stethoscope and enjoys carrying it around her and try to wrap it around the back of her neck so it hangs down in front of her (like mommy does at work). It's really cute.

Cuddles with the pumpkin.

Poor girl was so tired I took her out of the car, changed her diaper and put her in her crib all with her ASLEEP. Never before has this happen.

Brielle cannot get enough of the park and the swing. Doesn't matter how cold it is, we just bundle up and go play.

Daddy reading her a book before she goes to bed.

I keep trying to capture a picture of her sitting in the drawer but this is the closes I have gotten.

Daddy and Brielle with matching outfits and working together to put away dishes (well Brielle is taking them out while Matt is trying to put them into the dishwasher.)
She just wont let go of the pumpkins. They have been the cheapest entertainment yet.
Just a few things Brielle is doing:
-She sticks out her tongue in and out like a lizard
-Anyone who is brushing their teeth she comes running and wants to help.
-Points to body parts when we ask where her eyes, ears, tongue and nose are.
-She puts her fingers together when she wants you to sing itsy bitsy spider and she would mover her fingers, and do the motions with you (raise her hands up for out comes the sun and moves her hands side to side for wash the spider out). I can thank Grandma Hicks for teaching her and working with her.
-Help when I am getting her dressed and undressed
-Places her hand on her head and leans on it.
-Walks up the loft stairs with the help of the wall. She is now attempting to walk down them too.
-Sits on the stairs and plays and talks.
-Helps you throw away different items, especially her diaper. She asked for the diaper as soon as you are done changing it and walks to the kitchen trash to throw it away. I love having a little helper.
and MUCH, MUCH more.

Brielle Dancing

Brielle enjoys dancing every time music comes on. On this video you will hear her laugh which has changed from a newborn to a toddler's laugh. It is so cute. You can tell it's the techno generation, she loves playing with her Daddy's i-phone. Her favorite is Peek-A-Boo Farm. She has to touch the screen where the barn is and the animal will appear making a noise. She loves it. We use it as entertainment when she is really fussy in the car.

3+1=4

My period is really late I was getting frustrated becuase I had already tested and it was negative. I hate not knowing when I am going to start my perion and have to carry supplies with me everywhere. I was get frustrated becuase how was I ever going to be pregnant if I never had a period. We were "trying" becuase I wanted to have my babies close but as time went by, my mind frame changed to, "I really do want to be pregnant and not just for the fact that I want my babies to be close." A week of so ago I did a pregnancy test and it came out negative. A part of me didn't believe it but I forced myself to believe the test.
Saturday when I was working my coworker asked how I was doing and ask if I was pregnant yet becuase the last couple of weeks I have had this glow about me and I looked really good. I was grateful for the compliment but told her I had tested and I was not pregnant. So today I figured I would test one more time just to make sure I really wasn't pregrnant becuase if i have this "glow" maybe it's the pregnancy glow. I peed on the stick and went down and had breakfast with Matt and Brielle. I knew I wasn't pregnant so I was stunned when I went into my bathroom to find two lines on the pregnancy stick! Matt happen to turn the corner right after I looked at the test and I said to him with a great big grin, "OH crap I am pregnant!" Matt laughed, gave me a great big hug and kiss. Come to find out he didn't realize I had just tested and he thought it was my old pregnancy test.
So I discovered I am in my 6th week and so far so good. I spent most the day in shock because I tried so hard to convince myself that I wasn't pregnant. Goes to show I really don't know my body AT ALL, nor did I listen to myself when I felt the first test wasn't true. Knowimg me, trying to convience myself I wasn't prgnant was a coping mechanism. Needless to say I am WAY excited. I tested a couple more time just to make sure it was true.
i
Matt and I are going to try to hold off on telling our families until Christmas, and do something really cute to announce the arrivial of our second child. I have a doctors appoinment 3 days before Christmas I think during that appoinment we will be taking picture of the baby and doing the measurements. Matt and I agreed to tell one friend so I could get my excitement out and try to keep my secret from my family.

A new awareness

Friday morning Brielle woke up before I went to work. In times past, I have spent a few minutes with her and then handed her to Matt. However this time, she screamed when I gave her to Matt and cried the whole time I went down the stairs and into the garage. It just broke my heart. It makes me sad having to leave her anyway and then when she is sad....I want to stay home!!
Later that morning Matt had to drop her off at a new babysitters because my sister went to ER a few days prior and is really sick with a kidney infection and my mom's broken rib still hurts her. Matt said she was really clingy and didn't really want to let go of him either. Poor girl.
I hope it isn't this tough every week.

Daddy's Little Girl

When Brielle was dependent on me she would prefer me over Matt. However, things are changing and every day she is becoming more a Daddy's Little Girl. She cries when he leaves the room, when he walks through the door from work she laughs, smiles and rans as fast as she can to him. When we are at church and he opens the door to the classroom and she sees him she begins to whin and starts walking to the door. If he shuts the door she begins to cry. She can't get enough of him. Friday night I had her in the bath and he open the door to talk to me. She got all excited and started talking away and trying to hand him her toys. When he shut the door you would have thought he pinched her on the way out...she started wailing until he came back into the bathroom. Then today she woke up from her nap screaming. I wasn't doing much good comforting her and Matt was already gone for Sunday meetings. So I called his voicemail for Brielle to hear his voil. Afterwards, she was happy and went on to play with her toys. I know it just melts Matt's heart cause it does mine. I am glad she loves her Daddy.

Eyes, Ears, Mouth and Nose

Matt and I have been practicing with Brielle to point to different body parts. She has mastered the tongue and nose but the ears and eyes are a little more challenging. However today was the first day she has pointed to ears and eyes. It was a very proud mommy moment

Last time

The weather is starting to change, I think this is our last time feeding the ducks for the season. Brielle has enjoyed watching and listening to them quack.

Brett's Birthday Party

We went to the coconut bowl for Lisa's little boy Brett's birthday. We had a good time hanging out with cousins and playing the on toys.

Brielle and Matt liked going down this slide. Genius here thought it would be fun if Brielle went down by herself. So she did and it was a disaster. She tumbled all the way down. When she made it to the bottom she was in so much shock she didn't even cry. I forget she doesn't do well with slides that have bumps-lesson learned and not forgotten soon.

You can see some of the red marks on her face. Poor girl, it was a good tumble.

Matt right in his element.

Going on the train

I wasn't going to pay for bowling but a nice family was done playing and let us finish their game.
As the birthday boy he went into the wind tunnel to pick up coupons. It sure was a fun night.
