Super Bowl Sunday

My mom was super cute and sent an e-mail out to all the family informing them that the big day was approaching and her plan was to "aim to please." She informed us that she would be providing ribs and potatoes and we would have to fill in the rest. The plan was to gather at my parents for the game.
Fast forward to the day of the game. My mom informs us early in the morning that her refrigerator was leaking water. Come to find out, it kinda flooded the kitchen and they had to pull things away from the wall and have fans running to dry everything out. It turned into a mess and her kitchen was all torn up and things were everywhere.
The decision was made to change the party to my house. Erin was the first person to arrive with her bag of goodies to cook. Brian's family followed soon after. We weren't sure when my parents were going to make it so the rest of us just started cooking the food we were providing.

The kids were the first to dig in. They were willing to sample everything that was out.
Having one oven meant we had to wait our turn to cook. I had already started preparing a snack before everyone came so I took the kids while everyone cooked.

Look at that cute belly!
The beginning of super bowl and it's snacks.
In years past my mother has always cooked and served us. With her not there we were the ones cooking and didn't catch much of the game or the commercials. It didn't matter, we still had fun. My parents showed up early than they expected which was nice. I love having all of us together.
TOUCHDOWN!
People were cooking all afternoon and into the evening. We had SO much food. The comments being made were things like, "this is bigger than any other holiday" and "it's ridiculous how much food we have." The nice thing was there was a variety. We had snacky foods, high fat foods, healthy foods, drinks, desserts, main dishes. It was so fun.
We ate the whole time.
We also played (Brielle playing on Oma's iphone and Oma playing with Eva)
By the time the ribs were done none of us knew if we had any room. Of course you can't let ribs go to waste so.... chow time baby!

And we must not forget our baby needs food too
By the time we were done there wasn't any room left on our center counter and table. We were told to bring one side dish but I think we all brought 2-3.
Once recipe I did was a bust but my second one turned out great.  I was happy.
Miles communicates mainly by taking you by the hand and pointing to what he wants.
Brielle and Miles are getting a long nicely and she loves to pretend to be his Mommy.
We all had a good time being together
We haven't had a family photo for a while. Thought I would take the opportunity
Miles was wearing the right colors and doing the right gestures for the game.
When the game was done Brielle wanted to watch Rio. It was a good pick considering Brian had never seen it. However there were many interruptions with kids trying to entertain us that I am not sure if he could even watch the move.
