to the Nevada railroad museum. 
My grandpa use to work for the railroad (in fact that is the whole reason our family is in Sparks) My mom and grandpa had been sharing pictures and stories with the Museum folks. As a result they extended a private invitation to the Museum and a ride an old Virginia &Truckee Railroad engine.
Everyone also got to see grandpa Ross demonstrate his job for the railroad (receiving and transmitting the telegraphs and passing the telegraphs to the trains.
The circular loop my Grandpa is holding is what he would hold up when he had to send a telegraph to the train.
I was at work but Matt and Brielle were able to go down. 
They had a good time watching Grandpa in his setting.
